Below is a gallery of pictures of how we have been celebrating and learning about the Jewish Holidays here at Beth Shalom Early Learning Center!
Rosh Hashanah: (The Jewish New Year) We heard different sounds of the shofar, painted with apples, dipped apples in honey, and participated in the Apples and Honey Festival!
Yom Kippur: (The Day of Atonement) We learned to say we are sorry and in honor of the reading of the Book of Jonah we saw a giant, inflated baby blue whale.
Sukkot: (A time when we build temporary structures outside to remember when God provided for the Israelites in the wilderness.) We waved the lulav, visited Sukkahs in Squirrel Hill, and built our own sukkah. We also had a family event of Pizza In The Hut!
Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah (We celebrate receiving the Torah) We visited the sanctuary and saw the Torah, marched around with flags, and danced with the Torah.
